Since you erroneously mentioned Boot Camp I will say that the last time I tried running the Boot Camp Assistant in a Mac OS X Virtual Machine, while being done so legally and within the constraints of its SLA, it would not run in a Virtual Machine. Other then your reply, nothing in any of the earlier replies in this thread mention anything about "Mac Bootcamp", they were originally about and only mentioned OS X until the question of dual-booting Windows 7 and Window 8 was raised! Additionally Mac OS X and OS X can be legally virtualized when done so within the constraints of its SLA.

Although since I have no practical reason to want to dual-boot Windows 7 with Windows 8 there is no need for me to test that particular hardware configuration scenario. Additionally, while I haven't used a second HDD or vHDD to do the same nonetheless I'd imagine it too is doable. One does not need to use any 3rd party boot manager unless it's one's personal choice! Windows 7 can be dual-booted with Windows 8 and can be done so without the use of anything other then Windows itself! It is actually very easy and quite simple and I've done it by decreasing the size of the C: partition to create a partition for Windows 8 to be installed to as shown in the image below.
